Sitabai Arts College run by Berar General Education Society, Akola, was started in 1938.Presently Sitabai Arts College is one of the most popular Arts College in SGB Amravati University, Amaravati. College conducts UG, PG (8 Subjects) and professional courses such as PG Diploma in sound recording, Performing Art and functional Marathi and English. The College have separate central Library with the collection of 52432 books including latest Text books, Reference books, Special collection of Competitive exam books & Non book materials, among them some are important rare books. In 2006 Library has purchased SOUL software Developed by INFLIBNET, Ahmedabad for Automation of Library. Now all functions of the library is automated with Bar Code System. Recently INFLIBNET has appointed our Librarian Shri A.S.Sonone as SOUL Coordinator for State of Maharashtra and Goa. Library taking full use of Inflibnet. Library is recognized by UGC as a resource center for Ph.D. researcher till today many PhD Researcher has completed their work. Ten researcher's work is in process. Library organized various programs for the students Such as Granthalya Wachak Mandal, Books Exhibition, Essay Competition, Best Library Award, and orientation program for students to encourage them to use maximum use of the library.
